Pioneer 505 Northeast Saltwater Beach ??

Just got a BH 505 as a $75 add-on with my Minelab Excalibur II order from KellyCo for the wife to use to tag along.
We are primarily beach hunters (I'll be in the water and she'll be in dry and wet sand) in the NY oceans.
Looking for any info from experienced users as to what settings to use to get the best results for coins and jewelry without her digging up the whole place.

absolutely SU-Ks at the beach. Chirps like crazy with non-repeatable signals both high and low - tried everything.
brought it to my local school - school has never been hunted as far as I have ever seen.
found a clad dime in 6" within 2 minutes of turning it on - there were high tone signals everywhere - then the wife said we got to go make dinner.

I have heard the same thing, about the beach and the bh505. I have one and haven't tried it on the beach as of yet. I have used it in school yards and parks and it works really well there. Maybe the 4inch coil will work well, Who knows? Good luck at the beach!! Ron
