Pinpointing with the WOT coil?

Tagamet

New member
Well, I for one am exhausted. I went out after work today to try out the WOT coil on my Expolorer II and dug some holes large enough to hold several folding chairs and a small child. The site is a good spot, but REALLY trashy. I had been picking away with the 5 inch coil and getting clad coins, but the deepest were ~3 to 4 inches down. With the WOT coil, I got REALLY deep signals, that "sounded" good, but couldn't pinpoint a single coin. When I put coins on the surface, it seems like the coil responds to the BOTH outer edges AND the center of the coil. I went back to the small coil and immediately started digging more clad. Other than memorial pennies, I found dimes and quarters that "ran" 1965,66, 67, 68, and 69!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
TIA,
Tagamet
PS I hope to soon have a Platypus coil on it's way (right buttondigger?)
