PinPointing with Ace 350

Ok fellas....I pride myself on being a pretty intelligent individual. Pinpointing with this DD coil is perplexing me. I can get it to a general vicinity with the DD wiggle, but if I use the pinpointing feature, I'm all over the place. Rarely, do I not have to increase the size of the hole, I believe the times that I don't have to is just pure dumb luck. I would appreciate any hints and/or suggestions. On the plus side, I just ordered a sniper coil and it has an x on the spot....lol. I've been finding a lot of coins and artifacts with the 350 but would love to figure out the pinpointing.

If you go to You Tube, there are some great videos that specifically deal with how to pinpoint using the DD Coil...

Try this one. They use the AT Pro, but I'm assuming the techniques are similar:

I have an easier time with my dd coil than I do the sniper coil, as far as pinpointing. That's on the 2500 and I don't know if there would be a big difference on the 350. I haven't used them about an hour each since I ordered them, but I prefer the DD coil myself. In an extremely trashy area, I probably would prefer the sniper coil. I intend to go to the river Friday morning and give both these coils a good workout and see what works best. It sure is frustrating to have new coils and not be able to get out and dirt fish like I want to. I really don't need to pinpoint with the DD coil so far. But, the only thing I have found was real shallow and this would probably change for a deep target. HH.

I know what you mean Fongu. I dug up a horseshoe in a local park on Tuesday morning and couldn't really pinpoint that. It was only about 7 inches deep. I barely caught the tip of it and had to expand my hole. I'm hopeful the sniper coil will help in the trashy areas of the park, but I'm really wanting to get this pinpointing down. I'd hate to scratch a good coin because I wasn't accurate. Good luck down at the river! HH
