Pinpointing Tips With The Garrett Pro Pointer:detecting:

The ability to detune your Garrett ProPointer is also good when you are searching for a small target near a large metal target item, say a metal pipe from a set of swings. If you detune the ProPointer, you can still pick up a small target such as a ring, without having the ProPointer sound off to the large pipe. An electronic Pulse Induction pin-pointer that sounds off on a ring sized target from 6+ inches is practically useless when working around playground equipment. If you actually need an electric pin pointer to find a target from the center of your searchcoil 6+ inches, you really need to practice your coil pinpointing abilities before using any electric pin-pointer.

Below is a link to the video on tips using the Garrett ProPointer.

Excellent video. By the way, I almost lost my propointer today... No more stuffing it in my lower pocket, original holder on belt mandatory from now on...
:please:

Great refresher video, and the detuning near the playground equipment is sage advice, thanks John!! Yeah Fabio, a lost Pro-Pointer would leave me miserable:punch:

Mine always get placed right back in my lefthand deep, primary pocket in my Wranglers. I certainly won't be going to the belt holster, as I have to expect is where most lost Propoiinters were lost from over time,,,besides those simply(as odd is it is to me!) left laying on the ground after a hole was filled and just walked away from. I've not even come close to losing one of mine since 2010.

I would lose my pro pointer if I didn't keep it in the holster. I just have to remember to take the holster off my garrett finds bag before I go into the water.
