Pinpointing the X-Terra Coils

I will be ordering the 705 Pro package with the 5X10 HF.
Am wondering if I should go with the 6" HF for better pin pointing.
Any experienced comments would be appreciated. ND

Can't speak for the 705 yet as I'm still swinging my X-70. But with all the X-Terras I've used, pinpointing is very accurate, regardless of the coil. Compared to the concentrics, the DD coils will separate targets more readily. When you consider the footprint of the two coils you mentioned, the smaller coil should provide better separation than the larger one. But again, as far as pinpointing goes, I doubt you'll see much difference. As a side note, the best way I've found to pinpoint with a DD coil is to center the target under the coil, then wiggle the coil back and forth, slowly dragging the coil toward you, until the audio response disappears. At that point, the target should be directly under the front tip of the coil. JMHO HH Randy

THAnks Randy, just what I was hoping for. I don't think I can go wrong with the 705 at this point and timing with the new
benefits. And upgrading from a BH Qsilver...I can't wipe the smile off my face....

Well congrats on the new detector! I think you will really enjoy the new X-Terra! Good luck to you with it, Beale.

Ohhh...Don't worry. That backache will wipe away your smile after filling your pocket with loose change.:bouncy:
