Pinpointing Question

When you git a high pitch coin signal mixed with iron tones and you go to pinpoint I find it very difficult to zero in on the high pitch target, sometimes the all metal signal will be very broad due to the trash targets. How many of you pinpoint in these conditions using the discriminate mode? I have tried this and it seems to work fairly good if I locate the target with the tip of the coil using very narrow sweeps.
