Pinpointing on Beach

Charles T

New member
I'm new to using my XT 70 on a beach and am just getting used to the challenges that a beach poses. I seem to have a problem using the pinpoint feature. If I'm anywhere near wet sand, as soon as I'm two inches from it the pinpoint goes off the chart. I've tried turning sensitivity down and it only helps some. Up on dry sand, easy greasy, no problems with anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you read the faqfaq at the top of the forum? Go down to saltwater and read all thats there if you haven't already. Lot of good info there. Good luck.

Instead of using the pinpoint button, press the prospecting mode. It's a very effective way to pinpoint.
