Pinpointing Help...

Detector_Pat

New member
I really like my Explorer II but one thing that puzzles me is when I am trying to pinpoint some targets. On one target today, the signal was good, showing just over 6 inches deep, and when I try to pinpoint, I get a weak, low, varying, humming sound. It was showing upper right corner when in iron mask. When I switched screens, it was showing 6 and 30. I can't figure why on some targets, I can pinpoint but others I can't. Some are loud and easy to target. This target wasn't to deep for this machine, I know that much. Is it possible that the target was to big, and overloaded the detector? I just wonder if anyone else has this problem?

What did the target turn out to be and how deep? I am no where close to an expert but depending what you found I can let you know if that happens to me on similar items.

Kind of a related item, It is super dry here in my part of WI, I sure think items react different in this extreme dry then they do when there is a touch or moisture around. What do you others think?

I never got to dig the target because I couldn't get it pinpointed. I would get the sound that I described, a foot in each direction when pinpointing. Just weird. I would like to know how others rate the Explorer II as far as pinpointing goes. Thanks.....
