Pinpointing deep targets

I don't have a sovereign but I do have an explorer. One thing I noticed with it is the pinpoint function isn't real good on deep targets especially if there's trash close by. I was wondering how the sovereign compares with pinpointing? I've read a lot of good things about the Sovereign finding deep targets next to trash.I was also wondering how it compares weigh and balance wise to the explorer? I'm looking for someone in the SW- TN area the has one, I would like to see how they operate before laying down the cash.

AFAIK there really isn't a pinpoint function on the Sov, you have to X it out and dig. Sure you can go to AM mode and X it out, but it's not really a true pinpoint function like I've seen on other machines.

JHM,I just X it out and use a Sunray probe on my Sovereign and never use the pinpoint or all metal function. If you want to find that deep silver coin the in line probe will help for both the Explorer and Sovereign.Even a hand held pin pointer is much better than relying just on the pinpoint function of both units for deep targets.
