Anybody have experience with the Whites Bullseye or Automax Precision v4 Pinpointer from Kellco? Any comments will be appreciated, thanks.

Hi, I have both pinpointers you speak of. Both are good, but I prefer the Automax sold by Kellyco. Some folks complain that they are to big and bulky, but it has not been a problem for me. Most of my hunting partners have Automaxes and a few have the Bullseye and a few others have other brands. They all seem to work just fine. Good luck with your decision. HH Dennis in Idaho

Hi Don...I also have both pinpointers....the Bullseye is a 120mm and the other is just the V2...not sure of what the difference is from the V4. Bullseye works really well. I will try the V2 the first time this weekend. Yes, it's bigger but I'll just tell people that if I get hurt out in the field, I can probably use it as a crutch. But with air tests, the V2 seems to pick up a bit further away. If I can remember, I'll give you a field test on it sometime over the weekend.

I bought an Automax V2 from eBay years ago and it still works like new. I got it for around $40 in like-new condition. I've used a Vibraprobe, but I like the Automax better because it seems to detect at a greater distance and has a long thin probe. It's great in getting down into small holes made by a screwdriver, for instance. I've used it so much I have worn a hole in the tip, but it still keeps going strong. Only drawback I have found is that it has to be readjusted just about every time it is used (on nearly every hole), but that's not much of a hassle and I'm used to it. The long probe makes it worthwhile for me.

The White's Bullseye enjoys
* An Excellent Fit in your Pouch
* Fully Automatic
* Durable
* Available at competitive pricing
* White LED Light
* One Nine Volt Battery
* Fits in most Treasure Pouches without falling out.
* Available at hundreds of dealers, not just one.

Other Professionally made Pin Pointers are the Sun Ray, Uniprobe and Tesoro Built Treasure Mate (Just don't leave it switched on in the vibrate mode as eventually it vibrates itself to death).

Uniprobe is the deepest I've used.
Sun Ray integrates with your detectors circuit but is not portable with other makes and models so it stays with the model it was designed for.

The Merlin is another one worth mentioning along with the Wizard in the lower expense end.
