Except my older garrett pro pointer (black one not the carrot) falses like crazy sometimes. I do ground balance it. Maybe they fixed that on later units. I still use it but it can be frustrating.

To add...the black Garrett Pro Pointer is NOT QUITE as sensitive as my Carrot. It's about 1/2" difference before it goes off on the same coin. I've tested this probably more than I've needed to. Hence,I ALWAYS use the Carrot unless it dies andI need a backup which is the PP2.

Now if you have the e-series(Explorer/eTrac) then the X-1 is a different topic.

I have to fully agree but you can no longer buy these. Really wish I could.

I thought of buying one but with my tennis elbow I want mine as light as possible and part of the reason why
I also bought an RNB battery 6oz lighter than the stock battery oh and it holds a charge a hell of a lot longer!!!

Is the orange Garrett Pro-Pointer what you are calling the Garrett Carrot?

I love my Garrett PP. I can quickly cycle through the different sensitivities which is super handy.

If you haven't tried a Nokta you might want to check it out. JMO its better and deeper than either Garrett. But Nothing beats a X-1 for a Etrac. HH, Don
