Does anyone know if a waterproof pin pointer is made that will work with my explorer pro.
I am having to use a Vibra probe 580 at the moment which I use with my underwater detector as my other probe which is not waterproof is on its last legs.
The noise drives you up the pole and I have to take my headphones off when using it.
Any help please.

I don't know of one that is 100% waterproof right out of the box. The new Minelab pointer and the Garrett are only water-resistant as far as I know. But there are a few guys who have made their pointers waterproof by encasing them in silicone, which seems to work well.

A friend bought a Vibraprobe for river hunting. Not impressed with it at all compared to the Pro Pointer. Best trick I heard to waterproof a Pro Pointer is to use one of those food vacuum storage machines/bags to incase it in it. Some guys will waterproof a Pro Pointer by putting rubber cement over the speaker hole, led, and a second o-ring under the screw on battery door. Me? I don't want to do that, and I don't have a vacuum food storage device, so I think I'd just stick mine in a ziplock bag with the air burped out of it. I'd probably put the bag inside a second bag as well just to have double the safety it didn't leak. Burp the air out of both bags and then wrap a few rubber bands around them so they sit tightly pulled together and you aren't fighting the bag being loose and fluffy when using it.

Thanks the vibra works great the way I use it with my wader and have recently found over 750 large fishing weights in a small area so the vibra probe speeds up recovery a lot, it is used in up to 4ft water. I tried the plastic bag thing but either the bags got holes in them or they sweated that is why it is on the last legs.
Guess I shall have to just keep away from the water with the explorer.

Just a word of caution with the vacuum foodsaver. I tried it and if you let the machine do its thing (vacuum & seal) it will turn on, but won't
turn off because of the vacuum. Maybe if you interrupt the vacuum and hit the seal button in might work. I think I might try
the silicone route. JMHO
