pinpointers interfearing with etrac?

I am thinking about getting a probe like a garrett pinpointer for a backup for my sunray probe.Do they if any interfear with the etrac? What model is the best ,and what is a pi?Thanks for the info

I have the pistol probe and get some interference sometimes but it is only when I am pressing the button on the probe. Not while detecting.

I've used the pro pointer ever since I've had the E-trac, no problems at all, other than getting to close to the coil. Paid $125

That's the great thing about the SunRay inline probes. You never have to worry about interference. Well, there are a lot of other great things, but that is one of them.

I have the Pistol Probe and the frequency is adjustable on it so you can adjust it not to interfere. I have the Xterra 70 so I'm only running one frequency at a time and that may make a difference for you.

I use a Garret Pro Pointer - never had any problems.

The pistol probe did interfere with the E-trac. It is bearable since the probe isn't on all the time, just when you press the button. The frequecy on it is adjustable to minimize the interference. It also depended on what channel the E-trac settled on when doing the initial noise cancel.

I would just move the coil away from the hole to minimize the interference and lift one of the headphone cups from an ear.

there is a lot to like about the sunray as well as the other probes. After using a probe, I find that I really must have one.

Hi,

Funny about that - my Garrett Propointer interfered with my Etrac last Sunday on my 1st target just after I started hunting.
How I fixed it was to noise cancel again but this time with the Garrett Propointer turned on.

I am told this method may also work with the Pistol Probe...yet to try that one.

the frequency is adjustable so that you can minimize it to pretty much nothing. It does not vibrate. It is a very good probe and concentrates it's signaa out the tip instead of out the sides andout the tip. You can easily hear the signal through your headphones, at least I can.

BUT... none of that matters... just flip the stereo/mono switch on your phones when you use the probe and VOILA... no interference!

I have the SR inline probe for my sovereignGT and never use it anymore because the Pocket UP is so much better AND it is easy to leave the detector in probe mode because it will still make some noise because the wand is mounted near the box and moving things... however if you switch the stereo/mono switch everything will be very quiet and you will quickly notice. I have hunted sometimes for 25+ ft with the inline probe before noticing...
