I'm back into MD'ing after about a four year hiatus and recently bought an SE Pro. On my old EX II I used the SunRay probe but I'm looking for a pinpointer that functions independently of the detector. Anyone have any suggestions on a good pinpointer other than the SunRay? Thanks for your input.

I use the Garrett Pro Pointer. It's a great all around pointer but mike is right the X1 is the best for the Exp's. If you can find/afford one these days!
Hey there. I find the X-1 is a must with my Explorer SE. Since getting the Explorer SE I am digging targets deeper than ever and I'm finding lots of trash while digging down to my intended target. The Sun-Ray X-1 will of course null on this trash, where as a regular PP will sound off on ALL METAL causing me frustration at times. I actually use a Garrett Pro-Pointer in conjunction with my X-1 for the best of both worlds. GL and HH. Matt
