Could anything be better than the pro pointer?

My dealer told me by end of June yesterday. I don't know if it will be better than the pro-pointer but I will be getting one for sure. I just wish Minelab would make it with wireless communication to the CTX. I know I'm dreaming due to cost but that would be totally sweet. I expect it to be like the pro-pointer and hopefully waterproof as well, that's really what I am hoping for. Back to the question though, it should be out in June. HH -Marc

Yeah, the pro pointer is definitely not water proof because of that little speaker opening. A friend of mine who goes under the water covered over that opening with something, not sure what he used, maybe rubber from a hot glue gun since that would be removable. He relies on the vibration when he is under water with it. Somehow I got sand all through my pro pointer and had to take it apart. DO NOT EVER ATTEMPT THIS! I was very lucky to get it apart and back together again without breaking it.

I was just waiting for a response like that--knew it would be coming.-----Although it isn't an answer to the question, it is a point to consider (and a question to the question).-----My answer to the Pro Pointer "question" would be -----ANY equip. can ALWAYS be made better (improved on).-----Is the Pro Pointer good?---You bettcha it is, I got three of them & luv 'em.-----Will the Minelab pinpointer itself be "better" (an improvement on) the Pro Pointer?-----I dunno (yet) and neither do you, maybe yes, maybe no, time will tell.-------All I'm trying to do is find out if anybody has heard anything about the timing on the Minelab pinpointer release.---------Del

I have a sneaking suspicion the Minelab pinpointer will go deeper than the Garrett (minus the sliding piece of metal hat trick). I feel Minelab has to offer something better performance-wise to successfully go head to head against the Garrett.....which is a awesome piece of machinery.

I agree I love my pro pointer but if it was say waterproof that would be that much better and like someone posted there is always room for improvement and I am sure minelab will make it better in some way.

I just listened to "Relic Round-up" the talk radio show that is sponsored by American Digger Mag. The guest was the President and General Manager of Minelab America (Gary Shaffer) and he stated that Northern Hemisphere would have a Minelab Pinpointer by the end of the summer.

That's good to know Fire Fighter, thanks.-----I hope they don't push the release date back again, they probably won't this time.----Looks like we can count on it "coming to market" by the end of the summer then.-----Thanks for the responses everyone.-----------Del
