pinpointer what is your thought

Hi all, first of all I would like to say I am a big fan of Minelab. I have their Explored ll, E-Trac, Excalibur ll and the CTX 3030 but I can honestly say that I don't care for thier pro-find 25 pointer it is to weak on vibration. the Garrett Pinpointer on the other hand has a lot more vibration . So with that being said it is my opinion that my minelab pointer is not as good as the Garrett Pinpointer ( the vibration is not strong enough)

I have a back-up Garrett ProPointer for my back-up Garrett ProPointer. I ain't detecting without one if I'm detecting in the dirt. Period:)

Pro-Find designers dropped the ball with this one. As far as pinpointers...it boggles my mind that nobody's really rivaled the Garretts ProPointer so far. Some manufacture is really missing sales by not totally focusing on their pinpointers. How can it be that hard? martin

I am a big fan of Whites products.

I have heard that Whites is comeing out with a Pinpointer this fall, and is to be better than anything out there. I hope they do, I have had both the Garretts and MineLab and they interfeard with my detectors. I am back with the Whites pinpointer till i see what comes out this fall. A man has to have some kind of pointer after useing one. All we can do is hope for the best, and take what we can use. Good Luck All, Flintstone

I've had Whites, Merlins, Treasure Mates (by Tesoro), the Pro Pointer and a sunray mounted on an MXT. The Sunray is phenomenal, but has to be mounted to a compatible detector. Of the others I personally would have to lean to the Pro Pointer followed very closely by the Treasuremate. All that said, I'll never detect without a pinpointer after using one.

Goes to show you that no one company does everything well.....at least at the moment. I agree with all of the above statements.....Whites bullseye is a decent pinpointer but Garretts is Superior...even to Minelab and less money. Whites on the other hand new pinpointer will blow every one Else's away. I will keep my Garrett pinpointer as backup but the Whites pinpointer will be "leaps and bounds" beyond the competition.....stronger, faster etc etc etc.

Is the "new" Whites on the market?

Not as of yet......should be in the next couple of months

Then how do you know "it will blow all of them away"?

After thoughts to all the above. IMHO a pinpointer should have a reach of 2-3 inches, narrow pattern, preferably from the probe end only. Too much coverage confuses the issue some times. A solid vibration mode so one doesn't need to hear it when wearing headphones. I like to cover the speaker holes so as not to draw undue attention in parks etc. Led lights to indicate a target are often difficult to see in bright sunlight IMO. Too much depth can be misleading as when pinpointing, one should already be close to the target. If more depth is needed, use the detector to search again. In fact, several of the lesser powerful pinpointers I've used over the years were still quite helpful when trying to find small items that had become soil colored. Especially dimes and pennies, the occasional bit of wire, lead shot etc. If the new Whites is comparable to their excellent line of detectors it should be a good one, but I'm hoping it won't tempt me too much. I've got too much detecting equipment as it is.

I was fortunate enough to see one....Like nothing else out there....so many improvements and features. Once you see one....I think you would agree.

If Ralph makes one for your machine then get a Sun-Ray. Garrett is good but don't throw the box away you will need it when you have to send it back. Garrett will replace them. The Minelab is not as loud but you can use it with any machine without interference. Whites is due a good pin-pointer vs. what they have had. JMHO HH :minelab::fisher::teknetics:

Agree with what you said except the interference part Hershey.----The Minelab Pro Find 25 will STILL cross talk the MXT & M6.

I think you will be surprised about that too!

This question can't go un-asked, "Just where, when and how were you able to see this new Whites when even those close to the horses mouth ain't saying a peep?" I am skeptical.

What I can say is everything is accurate and what I can't say I just can't say because it would break a confidence

I saw Elvis at a Whataburger last light, ordering two triple burgers, and he said he'd seen the new Whites PP too. As always, I honored the king with my silence about seeing him once again. Question is...will Elvis appear in public before the White's PP? Both of them are a ghost, but has been sighted here and there ;-)

I am able to say this....I have seen one....in person.

If you asked me not to say anything about a particular subject....Im sure you would appreciate me keeping it quiet.

Someone asked me not to say anything and.... I am going to honor that request. I hope you appreciate that too.
