Pinpointer question?

I see a lot of guys in the videos using inline pinpointers like the sunray. I currently use a Garrett pro-pointer. Have any of you used both and if so which do you prefer? Which is deeper?

I have both but prefer the sunray because you will hear the same " tone" as the coil will produce for a good target. So probing for the target is much easier , with the garret the sounds are all the same. A nail will sound the same as silver dime. But if you put the etrac in pin point mode the tones sound the same. Basically the sunray is a mini coil producing the same tones as the main coil.

I wonder if the extra weight is worth it. Currently, I use the Garrett.

I have both and use them both. First the X-1 after I dig the plug to confirm if the target is in the hole or plug and then when I am close, the Garret, for final recovery. Weight is not an issue. The Etrac is already heavy and I don't notice it.
