Pinpointer Question

Only when using it. If you leave it on all the time you may encounter some interference issues not to mention battery drain.

Depends on which one I'm carrying. Really, the only one I have that can be left on, I leave on much of the time. Either the battery life is quite good or it isn't draining much off the battery until it buzzes and vibrates as I can hunt for long periods without battery failure.

I have a White and it works good but it can not be left on. I would like to try the Garrett and I do not think you can leave it on either.

I have a Vibra-Probe 580 and love it, it has a one minute timer which turns itself off if it is not used in that time, it only vibrates,no lights or sounds, and it only detects at the very tip of the probe, which makes pinpointing a joy. It's 2 inch range is quite sufficient to find items in either hole or dirt/sand piles and makes quick work of letting you know where the item is by vibrating faster the closer you get to the object. Oh yeah, its water proof to 100ft under water and no external switches to bump or get damaged, comes with a nice holster and frankly is my favorite of the several types and makes I have had. Nuff said.
