pinpointer holder on E trac

Member
Anyone out there use a pinpointer mount for the e-trac ? How do they work ? Will pinpointer fall off sometime ? Do you feel the extra weight ? - thanks

I use one and its Velcro of course. I personally like it because its easier to get to when digging sometimes it slides off but has never broken because I'm always on grass. One less thing on my hip. Its not too heavy for me.

If I went that way I would use a teather for sure!

Yep, that pointer would get lost for sure if you didn't tether it to the shaft. I looked at one but decided against it because I spend as much time crawling through the woods as I do in a park and it would get knocked loose constantly. I use the White's deluxe pouch that has a great side pocket for the pin pointer and I use a fly fishing coiled lanyard to tether it. Works great.

You will feel extra weight depending on where you mount it. The X-1 probe adds some weight,I carry the probe itself in my pocket to get RID of the weight. It’s not terrible though,I’d imagine a normal pinpointer would weigh about the same.
