When I got the Ace A few years ago, they had a "special" on the V4 PP. I didn't dislike it other than it's physical size. I know it's a cheapie, and many have had troubles, but it's still working fine (after 3-4 years). Anywho, it was a pain to carry....I'd made a couple different belt mounted holsters, but because of it's length they were clumsy and it was always in the way.
So I came-up with the idea to mount it to the shaft of the MD, so when I laid the MD down, the PP was "right there", plus it was always out of the way. Now I'm 6'2", and over 200lbs, so the added weight wasn't even noticeable to me.
A couple conduit mini-clamps spring-loaded broom holders bolted back-to-back on them was all it took. I "sprung" the holders a little to make removing the PP easier. So if any of you are using the V4 (or similar model), here's a simple/cheap way to carry it so it's easily accessible. I just solved this by buying a new ProPointer, but will leave this set-up as-is for a spare/loaner detector.
