Pinpoint Location on 10" disc

Hello everyone, I just joined the site. I have a question. I just bought a Minelab Excalibur 2 1000. Can someone tell me where on the 10" disc using pinpoint, the object can be found directly underneath the disc. I had a Minelab Exterra 70 and when I used it in Pinpoint the object buried was directly in the center of the disc. Was out on the beaches yesterday with the Excalibur but having a hard time figuring out what part of that disc to use as a guide to go by. I have read that the object buried is below the Minelab sticker on the Disc. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank You !!

I use the front of the coil to indicate where the target is. Scan over the area in one direction and then go about 90 degrees and scan again. That will give you the exact location of the target.

Pin point is what I use on the beaches of Florida for almost all my hunting unless it is a really trashy beach. The whole coil will react in pin point, front, back and center. That works the same with the 12 x 10 SEF coil which I now use.

I was reading somewhere that pin point in the Excalibur is almost like a PI machine. It does have similar characteristics and does go deeper in pin point than it does in discriminate. I have found that targets are often out of reach with discriminate but come to life with pin point.

welcome to the forum....like finderskeepers said,if you can swing over the target at 2 right angles ,then X marks the spot..... some guys turn there coils on edge to pinpoint shallower targets.... also take notice as you are slowly moving forward and backwards while swinging the coil where exactly the coil starts picking up the signal this has helped me from time to time..... i find the deeper targets are easier to pinpoint as they give of a narrower and shorter signal...the shallow odd shaped stuff can easilly throw you off target or when there are multiple targets in same area itseasy to get thrown off target... then again most guys use big he man 8 inch scoops in which case you only gotta be close.... i use my homemade 6 inch scoop which for me works just fine 90% of the time its just that other 10% of the time iwish i had something bigger..... practice and repatition more than anything else will make it easier..happy hunting.....
