Pinpoint Button Sticking

I picked up an AT Pro not too long ago, only used it a few times so far in the water but all of sudden the other day I noticed that the pinpoint button is sticking and staying on sometimes. I have to pry it up with my finger nail to get it to stop. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, what did you do to resolve it? Thanks.

Had the power button on my ACE 350 sticking. Caused the machine to flicker on and off. I sent it to Garrett and had it repaired.

You may have to send your ATP in, as it it waterproof and the button will be more complicated.

I had the same problem with my AT. I sent it in and 10 days later it was back at my door better than new. That was a year and a half ago and the button does not stick any more

Call Garrett...ask for Hilda or Sue (1 800 527 4011 and tell them your problem. If it works fine after drying ouu or you can still manually pin-pinpoint it, you might want to wait till later on in the season. Garrett customer service is excellent!

Cool, thanks for all your help. I'll probably wait then call them later in the season once I start my other project. For now, I can deal with it unless it gets worse.

My at pro pinpoint button started sticking sometimes but only while using it submerged. I simply started using the x method with the coil over the target to pp and stopped using that button in the water, it works fine when using it dry and I have gotten just as accurate pinpointing without using it in the water. Just a glitch with these machines, you could prob have it "repaired" but will prob do it again if you use it a lot in the water. I'm thinking micro sand particles get in around the rubber cover and won't let it come back up. If your machine is still under warranty it might be worth it to get it checked. If you do follow up on this with garrett will you update us with what they tell you? Thanks!

Certianly will...I thought maybe it was sand or something but we'll see what happens. Just bought it so it is under warranty so I have no problem sending it back if it continues.
