Pinpoint audio warble ??

I wonder if anyone has ever heard the pinpoint audio warble - almost like the bell sound you get when the electronics get overloaded on a large object ? I was on the beach today and heard this for the first time - the target turned out to be a hot rock - but it wasn't that big. Then it did it again and this time it was the top of a coke can at about 6 inches deep. Anyone got any ideas on this one ?

I dont remember the pinpoint every going overload, but then again I dont pinpoint something that gives a large target in disc anyway.. will try it if I can remember next time

Yes it does warble with a large target like a pop can... I have had it happen...

It was a huge piece of old waved roofing (tin?).
About 12x8" in size and warbled in Dicrim. Mode.
Scared the stuff out of me. I thought the detector was hosed!
