[size=large]can't tell if you're asking if all pin-pointers are the same or are all garrett pp's the same.as for where to get the best deal on one, thats too open a question. the best deal is getting what you want at the cheapest price. sometimes the over-all price isn't that low but can be off-set with freebies or lower cost of othe items.
so it depends on how well you shop. how much of an effort you put into finding that deal of the century.

There are different makes of pinpointers along with different price ranges. If you buy the cheepies, be prepared to deal with replacing them periodically, and having problems with thise adjustable knobs. The Garrett Pro Pointer has no knobs to wear out, does not need to be tuned and is built TOUGH!

Garrett Pro Pointer Is the best in the business. TREMENDOUS time saver! Like American Express.... You wont leave home without it! lol

Go with the Pro Pointer - you won't regret it. I had a cheapy that would only pickup the target at about a half inch distance, which I gave to a buddy when his cheapy quit working. With friends like me, who needs enemies?

I tried one of those Harbor Freight under $20 pinpointer and the probe had to be actually touching metal before it would sound off. Gave that to a friend who had none at all and bought a Garrett ProPointer.....dont leave home without it!
