pin pointing

I've posted a few times and everyone has been pretty helpful. I've hade repeated problems with my CZ3 and am wondering if I may have just goten a bad one. Everything up to now I've blamed my inexperience with the machine on. I am finding that the machine only rings on the outside edge of the coil and when the center ring passes over the object there is no reaction. This is in addition to not being able to balance the machine a lot of times. I've put in fresh batteries and have turned the sensitivity almost to zero and still have not been able to dig because of the false signals. When I go over the same areas with my white's I have no problems. I never have the machine on enhanced. Can anybody help or should I just send the machine back?

I'd give Fisher a call and ask to talk to a CZ tech. I thought I had probs with my 3D and sent it back. They tested it out OK and sent it back to me. I've had no probs since.

But your probs I did not have. Your's sound way worse.

The contact phone #s should be on their website. Fisherlab.com
Good luck,
Dave

Probably need to call Fisher...I do know when batteries are low pinpointing is the first to suffer and know when its time to change..
Inability to ground balance makes me think it may due for a trip to the shop.....

My buddy's wife bought a 3D that wouldn't ground balance. She sent it back and it's been fine ever since. If it wouldn't have been for me owning a 3D too I am sure she would have been scratching her head too. I even tried my coil too and it still wouldn't ground balance. Send it back.
