Pimp my Coinmaster

Cibola

New member
Hello all,

I recently saw that sunray is offering a probe for the coinmaster/prism series of detectors. Great probes!!

Also their is a SEF 12 x 15 coil now available for coinmaster/prism series.

What I'm wondering is if anyone has any experience using the sef coils. Does it provide that much better seperation and increase in depth?

Now what I'm sure your wondering is ..?WHY?? would anyone want to spend that kind of $$ on a entry level unit. The answer: for some of us we like the pure simplicity of turn on and go...no programs, no menus and if by some chance we did get caught in a rainstorm or something to that effect it would cost very little to replace it.

So please help me if you can...pimp my coinmaster. I am pretty well sold on the sunray probe, I am just on the fence with the 10x12 or 12x15 SEF coil.

All comments and suggestions are welcome!!

Thx all and happy hunting..

My opinion . .any detector that gets used beyond the most basic "tot-lot" hunting isn't complete w/out a Sun Ray probe. No experience with the large sef's but the one concern that comes to mind would be how comfortable (i.e. balanced) that detector, with it's s-shaft, would be with a heavier coil. . .I'd definitely get some experienced input before I got one or the other. My guess is the 10x12 would be the better choice in most cases. Good luck . . .

I wouldn't waste my money trying to pimp a coinmaster out. You would be better off using the money to upgrade your detector to something like a Tesoro Silver

As I posted on the other thread, you likely had a defective machine and you owe White's the courtesy of that possibility before bad mouthing their product on this forum. I consistantly found targets in the 6 to 7 inch range with the Coinmaster in very mineralized ground. I did the field testing for Ralph at SunRay on his PZ-1 for the Coinmasters and Prizm line so I feel qualified in saying that you are making yourself look quite silly by saying a one inch coil gets more depth than the nine inch stock coil. (The detector electronics used are the same for each coil) Ralph made the PZ-1 to satisfy the needs of many thousands of satisfied users of the Prizm line. I don't know what your problem is but you can take it back to the Tesoro forum.

Watch Recovering Relics you tube videos. He does great with the coinmaster pro!!

I agree that the coinmaster is a great detector at a really nice entry level price. We have one and my son has found tons of coins, in fact I would say he has paid the unit off. Simple easy to use and it hits some nice stuff also.

[size=large]time and again the saying comes true. it's all about becoming one with your machine. thousands have become satisfied with entry level machines. they have found no need to blow hundreds of dollars on machines that just have more bells and whistles. and they do quite nicely with them.

I don't think White's produces machines that fit as dismal a description as Joe portrays. Hey, it not a V3i, but then the price to buy one is not near a top o` the line model. All the main mfg's have entry level units. Were you expecting a DFX for the Coinmaster's price?
