Pictures of last weeks finds.

Well everyone. I am learning this machine. It is taking time, but it is a MONSTER. I still am getting used to seeing a VDI meter and understanding signals. The more I work it the better it gets. I have been on several hunts this past week. None lasting more than 2 hours. These pictures are from 2 spots that I hunt. One is an old park, the other an old school. My school site is a bank. I dug over 150 coins in 4 hours of hunting. Found various things. The school site has been very kind to me. I dug at least 6 rings out of it so far. Still many more targets to dig. Well enough with the talk lets get to the pictures. A little Gold, Silver and some coinage...Love this machine. I will only get better as time goes on. I am going to be in this forum alot, because it is the only F75 Exclusive I have found on the net. I like talking to guys and gals that use the same machine I do. Thanks and hope you enjoy the pictures.

nice job. Its also good to hear your gettin along well with the machine. Those schoolyards and bark chips can be real sleepers when it come to gold buddy. We have found some REAL keepers in them here over the years. They can also be a very good place to keep those detecting skills sharp! Looks like you have a good handle on the machine already. Thats one of the things I really like about the F75...and the F70. The controls are easy and intuitive.....and the separation and performance is hard to beat. Welcome to the forum. There are a LOT of great guys here with a lot of skill that can help you out if you need it. Good stuff!!!! Streak!

Nice digging there, Zax. You were right when you said the machine gets better as time goes on. I'm still using De mode and it's knocked the stuffing out of a few old haunts. Ron

I am still in De mode as well. See i am picking up alot of interference in the areas i hunt. They are all in town around powerlines. I have to keep my sensitivity in de mode around 40 or so maximum I run is around 50. If I try to run higher I get a constant slight iron signal. Kinda bugs me. The 75 must be super sensitive for sure. I haven't been out in the country to hunt yet. Away from powerlines and civilization. Man I bet it shines out there.. Thanks for looking at my finds. I will add more finds as time goes on.

great finds!..what settings do you use MOST of the time?... thanks!

what is the average depth of most of your finds?..thanks!..i have heard it gets great depth even at the lower "gain" settings!

I use De mode, sensitivity around 40-55, Disc Level-16, Notch-1, # of tones, 3H.......I have a question. Do i have my disc level set to high???? I mostly hunt for gold rings, silver rings, coins, things of that nature. Now if I relic hunt I will usually switch over to all metal motion mode. I want to get my settings as dialed in for the things I hunt. Am I on the right track or should I lower it down some?

QUOTE "I use De mode"...................... Zaxfire69!

Hi Zac !

May I suggest that you use JE mode on the F75, with such a low SENSITIVITY.

The disc setting of 16 should not hamper finding gold rings as long as the Fe meter doesn't go above the second level. (0.3)

I prefer the two tone mode (2F) if the area is trashy.....It is more 'restful' ...... can't tolerate too much twittering of more tones. That's just a personal thing.

Only you Zac will know if it works, in your particular situation.........Best of luck, and keep us posted on your next venture..........MattR.UK.

I will try Je mode. I might set me disc lower as well. What rings in lower than a 16?? 14k is around 19-20 right? Is there anything lower that is valuable?

I regualry hunt at a disc level of 6....and find that for the bulk of my detecting it suites me just fine. Now having said THAT.......when I get a site whittled down somewhat.....I go straight to "0" on the disc........and it illiminates targets you just cant dig with a higher disc setting.(targets that read MUCH higher than 6......or 40-50 for that matter...) Actually.... I find it kinda amazing how it (A disc setting of 0) turns certain targets on.
I've tested this a lot.......and its not just a matter of ..........."well.....I just walked over it this time". After I get a site that seems pretty much hammered...I'l switch to "0" disc (but still hunt in 2F)...and go back over the area. when I get a diggable target......I'll put it BACK at a setting of 6....and the target will be gone. GONE!!! Put it back to 0....and its back again. I'm not sure of the exact mechanisin....but the F75 somehow actually gets BETTER separation at O disc than it does at a bit higher disc setting. Of course....the lower disc setting will also unmask things better as well. The are Soooo namy variables in the ground you cant SEE..................the question of how high do I set my disc to knock out certain targets isnt applicable. What it reads under ideal conditions can be light years from what it reads under certain ground conditions. Streak!

Good stuff, Streak. I appreciate the input. There is so much more available to the F-75 than many other machines because of how it operates. It's an amazing machine.

keep on diggin'

very interesting post streak!..thanks!...dankowski says the same thing!..sounds like you can just hunt in 2f,3h,or 4 tones and MAYBE get away with it in high trash?.or does it go in to "high gain" at "0" disc, goes "bat s**t on ya ,and all bets are off?..thanks!

It is funny you guys are talking about this. I have been digging my backyard for a little while. I thought all the targets were gone. I did what MattR said and switched to Je. Ok. When I do that my detector goes nuts. I lower the sensitivity down to around 25 to 30, disc at 8, notch 1 and tones 2f. It is sorta unstable. I don't know if it is because the guy next door has a direct tv satelite pointing toward me or if I am pickin up power lines. All these settings are confusing. ALTHOUGH I did go out earlier and as soon as I switched my F75 to Je, got it somewhat under control. I walked into the middle of the yard where most of my targets were found and BAM uncovered a Horseshoe with the Pins still in there. Then I walk a little farther and find what looks like a rivet to a pair of old pants. The little thing is 2 pieces.Very tiny...Smaller than a penny...Smaller then the tip of my pinky finger. SMALL...I have walked that yard with this detector and my Ace 250 and thought it was hunted out. Just goes to show you no place is ever hunted out. I just wish I could run a little more sensitivity where I am..But it seems most of my targets are out of my digging range. Like 10 to 15 inches...It is hard to dig that deep with a hand digger..I just wish I could get the machine to stable out...You guys keep throwing your settings in Je mode out here and I will keep trying them untill i get some success with them.... Here is the photos not that great but this is what I found...Look at how small that thing is by the penny...Tiny..

I'm dont like detecting parks and such..and prefer to spend MY time on older sites. I'd rather dig one crappy old flattie....than 6 gold rings!!
Truthfully..I thought it would have to be in mono tone to really get the benift of "O" disc....but it seems to work pretty darn good in two tones (my preferred tone setting). Probably DOES work a but better in monotone.....but it works good enough in 2f for me....and is easier to use....as you dont have to stay glued to the display. Maybe this weekend I'll compare monotone to 2F with O disc.......just to see if there is really that much of a diff.............
I dont think I'd recommed it at all in a busy site though.as it will probably drive you NUTS!!

I DONT like the higher tone setting either...as they seem to produce much more high tone falsing over iron. 2F seems MUCH more dependable in that respect. If you get a chance to try it out in a high trash enviroment............ let us know how it works!!! Streak!

think i'll go with disc at 6 and go from there!...leave the experimenting for later!..been hunting a long time, but got a lot to learn with this one!.thanks!

Alright J.T. I will go a little lower with the disc 6 it is. Thanks Streak and Bill Ladd. I love your videos Bill. You have some wonderful sites to hunt there. Streak being new to the sport the whole shyness thing still hasn't worn off yet. Most old sites where I live are owned by someone and usually just out in the middle of the field with no one around to ask for permission. Plus most of the real old sites in my town are in the Bad part of town. So i have been mostly hunting the parks and schools. I have dug a few Civil war finds from the lot adjacent to my Firestation where I work. A few bullets, lead and harmonica reed. If I could just get past the whole asking permission shyness thing I have some awesome sites in mind.

ALSO Streak when you say monotone, what do you mean by that?? And also the difference in tones. 2, 2f etc..I will go and read some more in my manual and see if I can understand..

hey zaxfire, monotone is 1 tone..2F will tone on Iron and tone on Non iron targets..:detecting:
