Pictures of Eldorado Umax

My Eldorado Umax arrived 40 minutes before I had to go to work yesterday. Just enough time to break open the package and see what I had purchased. First thing I saw were the headphones. I asked him when I was buying the detector if he knew what brand the headphones were. He said just some after market ones. They ended up being a nice looking pair of Calrad headphones with volume control on either side. That was an exciting addition to getting the Eldorado Umax. The Eldorado is in really great shape. Just a few scratches on the coil cover and some smudge marks on the top of the coil. That is to be expected. It ended up looking better than in the pictures. In the pictures the glare of the light made it look like there were scratches on the control box on the side, but when I got it there were no scratches on any sides of the control box. The housing and working condition of the detector are in excellent shape. Today I will be able to evaluate the performance of my Eldorado. I am excited to try out this machine I have heard so much about. Took a little while to get one, but it looks to be worth it. HH

That's a super nice looking Eldorado you got there. Mine is in the car ready to go hunting in the morning.

Taxman, I took mine out today for it's first time today. I left my Compadre in the car most of the time so i would be forced to learn this new detector. My Bandido II Umax and Eldorado Umax are my 1st manual ground balance Tesoros, so aim still learning that aspect of Tesoro detectors. The procedure is easy enough, it is just adjusting the ground balance knob and listening to the threshold changes and readjusting to get the balance right that I need to get used to. I am digging deeper targets in some places, and I think that is when I have the ground balance done correctly. When it starts to chatter during a hunt. I lower the threshold and if it still chatters I ground balance again. It will take time to get used to manual ground balancing. I just found clad today, but i am very impressed with the tone of the detector. It's ability to pinpoint and the depth of my targets. I am not used to digging that deep on that many targets. My right hand was aching a little after the hunt. I hope you find the good stuff tomorrow.
