Pictures from the Minelab Dealer Seminar Competition Hunt

All the dealers that attended the Minelab Annual Seminar had a great time from what I could tell. Thanks to some excellent presentations by people like Andy Sabisch, Steve Herschbach, et al.
Everyone flocked together waiting for the OK to go on the field. Ralph from SunRay is in the crowd there somewhere too.

Everyone was directed to an individual square. The idea was to hunt your square for the first 10 minutes, I think it was, and then on the whistle you could go anywhere you wanted.
All of the silver and tokens were in the grass there was no digging necessary or allowed, and no pinpointers or tools permissable.

Here we see some of the Minelab staff. On the left is Sandy, on the far right is Gus, and in the middle is Steve Dekany yelling at the cocktail waitress to bring him four more martinis. <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">

And they were off, scratchin' and pickin'

If it is of any consolation, apparently sometimes even dealers have a tough time pinpointing:

This is Doug Steiner who is a dealer from Alaska, using a Sovereign Elite.
<CENTER><img src="http://kamakazi.com/forum/seminar/DSC01706.jpg" alt="" /></CENTER>
Here's Gerry McMullen, from Gerry's Detector sales. While Gerry was trying to find a target, his wife was kicking his rear, finding 3 brass tokens and a handful of silver.

Here's a young man you rarely see a picture of, this is Andy Sabisch with a new Quattro. Andy did a great job walking around and helping people who were having problems getting their machines set up properly.

This young lady had such a big smile, because for the first time, she was able to swing a detector for an hour and a half during the hunt. She has arthritis so bad in her neck that usually she can only swing a detector, using both hands for around 10 minutes. However, just prior to the hunt her husband got her a Swingy Thingy, and she was holding her own and swinging away with the best of them.

Here's a shot of the whole field.

Doc,
Great photos and enjoyed chatting with you as usual - really a 1st class affair this year!
But I needed to let you know that you need to bring your camera in for service . . . . . when you took my photo it seems to have removed the hair from teh top of my head . . . . OK, I can at least try to blame it on the camera can't I?
Andy

Don't worry Andy, there are lots of cameras out there with same problem. I found that Paint Pro shop can fix most of the camera mistakes! <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">

You have way more hair that I do, so I Photo Shopped in some extra scalp to make you look not quite so handsome, and more like us really old, really bald guys !
It was great seeing you again as well! What a wonderful friend you have become and what a trememdous asset you are to our hobby!
A personal thank you from me for all you do!
For a bald guy, you ROCK in my book!

First of all the "CHIC" was a very nice young lady who along with her husband is a Minelab dealer.
I can only comment that her husband is a very lucky man to have such an attractive hunting partner, as well as a partner in business and life, and from my limited time in speaking with her, she is every bit as nice as she is cute! What a great smile !
It warmed my heart to see that the Swingy Thingy was allowing her the ability to detect without pain!
And participants in the hunt were allowed to use whatever machine they wanted to as long as it was a VLF.
Of course COILTEK WOT coils were not allowed because of an unfair advantage in covering too much ground !

Heck I would have stayed a Minelab dealer if it included a free trip to Vegas. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

sometimes glare from the camera lens can make a little "bald" spot... <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
