How do you all take a close up picture of a small object or coin and it come out viewable? I went on (essentially) my first hunt with my new Ace 250 and found a little tag which I believe to be lead material. But, every time I try to get a close up of it it comes out blurred. Also, I am not having any luck cleaning off all the crud(?) that has stuck to the little fella. It is an obvious picture of a dragline (or crane) and has the words P&H on the bottom. It is about 2" square. It has a lot of writing on the back side. But, is covered with hard deposits that I can't seem to scrub off. It is not worth anything. I was just wanting to clean it up good since it is my first real find:clapping:

Thanks in advance. - Tuf

To take a close up of your find, use the macro setting on your camera. Try to take the picture in natural light as the flash will wash out the photo if used in the macro mode.

As for cleaning your find, I would try electrolysis to get the crud off.

if you have a scanner use it. A scanner does an excellent job on stuff that lays flat.
