Picture of some of the finds in a trashy site I used Andy's program on..

WTG Lee! Glad to see that program is working good for you! I have the new small sef coil that will be here Tuesday and can't wait to give it a spin in the trash.

Well you did better than I did....I had permission for an old school house now a residence. I tried everything I could think of...hi trash, fast on, lots of discrimination etc but over the whole site no threshold about 90 per cent of the time. Got 2 newer pennies right on the surface and that was it. I'm quite discouraged about the etracs ability in iron....it was a total bust this afternoon!

There have been times when I got to hunt sites that should have been killers but turned out to be a bust. Recently my hunting buddy - Hardy - and I hunted a house built in the early 1800's and according to the owner, had not been hunted. Well, despite the best expectations, we found one silver quarter and that was from the 1950's and a few modern coins. A few years back we got permission to hunt a farm near Resaca, GA where 1,000's of troops fought and the same family had owned the land for more than 100 years . . . . total take? 5 bullets after hunting all day with three of us swinging detectors. You never know.

The E-Trac will hit targets in a null . . . many have posted just that. SO if your detector was nulling and you had slowed the sweep speed down, if you went over a good target you should have heard it.

A few questions that may help us improve your odds:

1) How much discrimination were you using?

2) Were you in AUTO and if so, what was it running at?

3) What coil were you using?

With a bit more information we should be able to help you ensure you do not miss a keeper if in fact there are any there.

Dave sure hope to see ya pull in those great finds. Nail/iron are a bugger but give the E-trac time..it can and will pull them out.
