Picture Of Silver Butterfly Ring I Found Yesterday Water Hunting

Here it is. About almost the size of a quarter in the size of the butterlfy. A neighbor told me this type of silver ring is called a certain something in it's effort/design, but I don't remember what she called it. She only told me that that sort of silver wire framed ring takes some effort to make and might be worth a few bucks to the right person. Besides the 925 marking on the back, it also has a halmark and a 4 letter initials I think which I would guess is the designer. I'll have to research it to see if it's worth anything beyond scrap, but if anybody has any clue please let me know.

This is the best close up I can do with my digital camera...

Your ring is a FILIGREE BUTTERFLY RING. A really nice find. Unless you need the dollars, it would look good just polished up and put in your brag box display.

Value, $30 - $50 on a good day I guess.

Yep, that's the word she used. Thanks for the info. At that price it'll sit in my scrap silver pile until I need to cash it in again...If that need ever arises again. I always fully intend to keep all my silver but darn if life doesn't throw you a fast ball. So long as I have pics of my silver worth more than face value then I'm fine with selling those too when in need. I was never one to be big about having "things", and as I get older that need to surround myself with stuff gets less and less. In fact, I can't stand clutter anymore. My motto is if I am not going to use it for years, and if I can't sell it, then I'm throwing the darn thing out. Somehow having less stuff cluttering shelves and such around me gives me more peace of mind, because I don't have to wonder where something is when I need it. Either I know where it is exactly, or I know I've got rid of it.

That is a good find Critter labor intensive design a lot of work to make one of those never sell that it is not your run of the mill silver rings Jim

I have to agree with everyone else....sweet ticket critter.

Thanks everybody. Yea, probably the most "artistic" silver ring I've ever dug. I've dug plenty of nice silver rings, but nothing in that style of wire framing or whatever you call that fancy style.
