Picking up a 6000Di Series 3 Hip Mount

Sven

Well-known member
Minty condition.
Meters on the handle.
I never had one of these, should be interesting.

do you have a pic of the hip mount set up? I can see the strap on the box but what does the coil/rod set up look like?

Here's some pictures.
Very lite weight rod and coil set-up, swings easier than a Tesoro.
Works excellent.

That one Sven looks minty !!

Wow! That's a beauty

I have a series 3 that is still new in the suitcase. It was used once in 1885.

Dang, 1885:surprised: that detector must be made with a glass plate attached to a stick and egg carton:biggrin:

I still have a 6000 DI #3, not hipmount, pinpionts great

What kind of depth are these supposed to get on coins? A friend picked one up for $1 at a yard sale not working. I got it working but in disc it only gets 6" on a half dollar in air test and 8" in TR... Seems rather weak. Is this normal? Are the in ground depths that much deeper then air tests? I hope so cuz 6" on a half is just sad.

You can have it mod'd for more depth. Or do it yourself by changing out two resistors tx and rx.
PM me your email address and I will send you the info. I was going to mod mine but decided to sell it,
the hip mount configuration of the 6000 did not suit me.

It is expected (by White's manual) to give full audio @ 8 inches on a U S quarter.
