Picked Up Prizm 2 For Grand-daughter for $50.00

Found a craigslist add locally for a Prizm 2 metal detector for $50.00.
My grand-daughter is 5 and loves being with me detecting. She'll
swing it for awhile but tires as this machine is a hair heavy for
a 5 year old. I might cut shaft down and modify for her to lighten
the load.Anybody have any input on the Prizm series detectors
and their thoughts on this unit as it looks BRAND NEW! Seems
to have respectable depth. Would you consider this a good machine
for a 5 year old to learn on? Thanks for any input or tips!!!

Great machine for her. Very simple. Has pinpoint, sensitivity, and disc. You could easily cut it down to fit. As she grows you can buy a new shaft for cheap.

I bought my first Whites for my wife. It is a Prizm II, I think I paid $200 for it. I previously owned a Garrett Ace 300. After using my wife's Prizm a couple of times, I was sold on White's. It's a great detector and you got a steal on it!!....I now own an M6 and love it!!:super:

The Prizm II is a great starter, even for a 5 year old. Had this one for my daughter, too. Had to adjust armrest stem (cut and drill) and coil rod (cut). But you can order a PeeWee rod from White's.

And what is really recommended here is the 950 Prizm coil. Made her dig the first silver toe ring on the beach.

Good Luck and a lot of fun to you both.
