It's on like Donkey Kong! :clapping:

A little warmer weather on tap for us means it's time to see if the winter research will pay off! XP is still working on the new v4 but in the meantime, coins need to be saved...hope to get started later next week. Time for a coin garden too...

Hey Taylor, good to see you are back to do some swinging...........:biggrin:and with one of the swinging hot Fisher F series detectors. You may just forget about that little French thing when that silver and gold starts piling up. Seriously, good to see you here and look forward to seeing some of your finds. HH jim tn

Haha Jim! :lmfao:

I hated selling the Deus but it was a case of "have to" unfortunately...I was just getting started with some of the non-motion modes and found a couple measured 9-10" Wheats - which at that fairly trashy place was *just* out of reach of the motion programs...I had that detector almost 2 years and was still learning...hopefully v4 will be an enhancement on what's already a great setup....

Before choosing the F70, I looked at the AT Pro, but decided it wasn't fast enough...also considered the F19, F44, Teknetics G2, and the Fisher Gold Bug Pro. I almost got the GB Pro, but someone snatched it a couple seconds sooner online....19kHz hits low conductors DEEP, which the F19 and Gold Bug Pro run; this also helps the machine recover faster. 13khz is a little better on copper and silver coins in my experience, another reason why I leaned towards the F70 or F75

On their website Fisher lists a parameter called "Lag Coefficient"...the F19, F5 and some others have a lag coefficient of 92 milliseconds while the F70 and F75 are rated at 78 milliseconds. Seemed obvious for me to choose the faster machine!
This F70 looks to be deep, even with the hockey puck coil attached! I've read and watched a lot on this detector, and have been a Fisher fan (connoisseur ) since the late 1980s when I got a 1265-X, my first REAL detector. Saved my allowance and cleared a neighbor's land out in Fayette Co at age 12 over the course of 3 months...was rewarded with $200 which bought the 1265-X...the rest is history!
