Picked up an EX2 10" FBS1000 coil for my SE.

All I can say is wow. This thing makes it a new detector. No more falsies on the slightest bump, less iron falses, and all around more stable. I can't believe Mindlab doesn't just discontinue the slimline and bring back the FBS1000/1050 coils for the SE.

i wonder if i am the the only guy on the planet who got a FLAWLESS slim line coil

If you already have the X-5 and X-8, I'm just curious what got you to get the FBS1000.
I know it can be a number of reasons so I was just wondering - my EX-2 came with a 1050 and I added the X-5 for trashy areas.

Those Coils are tough to come by since most user's don't like selling them. How much did you get it for? I bet you got a Steal on it! Good Luck and HH with that Coil.:detecting:

The X-8 is very good coil, it just doest get the depth of the 10inch. The soil I detect in has the deepies just out of reach of the x-8, believe me, if I had the choise I would use the x-8 all the time, but it's just not the best choise in my area.

I see all these post about a bad coil and maybe some were, but I don't think as many as some think. Out of the ones I have sold only one complained he thought he had a bad coil after seeing some thinking they had a bad coil. Like I say I think some may have been, but not as many as some think.
I let a guy that is good with the EX II try my SE and he felt the signals on the SE with the stock coil were easier to hear as they were more solid signal on the deep coins he found. He had his EX II and tried it after the SE and said what the SE got the EX II would too, but not as nice of a signal.

I'm just letting you know about my experience. I can with 100% certainty tell you that changing out my slimline for the FBS1000 has fixed all the problems I had. Mark me as one of the "few" that had bad slimlines then.

When I head out to hunt the farm fields the grass is usually wet and the slimline would false terrible.
Put the 1050 on and no problem. It helped me in more ways than that too. Lets me keep my settings higher.
There are a lot of guys now that don't voice any problems with the Slimline. Not like when they first came out.
My machine run fine now and that's what matters.

I bought a slim line for my Explorer2. I like the way it responds to rusted iron. There is almost no guessing with it. It is really sensitive and easy to handle.
