I had been looking for something like this to use for snorkeling in some places that I can't really take a full size detector. This thing is tiny and you can use it snorkeling without bothering anyone or drawing attention to yourself. I took it to a local swim area on the lake where the last couple of trips the pickens have been slim. No rings in the previous 3 or 4 trips and only a few coins. Took it mostly just to see if it would work at all. Found some big pull tabs that some joker had salted the swim area with and also found a silver ring. This was in about 30-45 minutes of snorkeling in the shallows. The sd card in my camera mask got full and stopped recording before the ring find but I was able to snap a couple of stills with it after finding it while still in the water. The depth seems to be 3 or 4 inches but it does work really well on targets with the vibration working great and the led flashing while over the target. I am happy with the detector and will be going to the place that I mainly purchased it for this Thursday with an empty sd card so I hope to have a video with some more finds soon. I definitely would recommend it. Here is the link to my video: http://youtu.be/FgK5SuKg2ZA

I could of used one of those last weekend. I was in 3-4 feet of crystal clear spring/river water. I was checking out an old swim spot that my Brother used to go to as a kid. Said it was a popular swim spot where lots of people would jump off of a bridge into the water. It was so rocky , I could hardly take a scoop ! Tons of trash ! Only found .41 cents. But , I know there's some rings there. I could feel it ! Plan on going back with my mask and snorkle. A waterproof pinpointer would be perfect there ! I'll have to just fan the bottom , and pull rocks away. Saw a large gray fin break the surface at one point , and about had a heart attack as I headed for the river bank ! Then , I was laughing as I remembered I was in fresh water , and it wasn't anything dangerous. I could see what I bet would be a great spot for divers / hookha guys. Tons of boaters were anchoring around the springs , and jumping into the water to swim. There would have to be some jewelry lost there over the years ! Oh well , I'll add it to my list of future spots to hunt !

Good Luck , and Happy hunting !
