Been using and MXT for awhile really like it..I pulled an C.S.A. Belt plate with a 300 back in the summer out of an Iron hole house site.So I "m sort of partial to the machine just did'nt like the pistol grip for long hunts really dont like pistol grips in any thing..Any way I got Whites to build me one on a S-Rod ..Swings perfect now. Also picked up a 6 inch dd excelerator from Monte (thanks Monte)..So heres the rig just thought I would share.

P.S. I had a Blue&Gray on a whites S-rod and it also felt 3 times lighter like that.

COOOOL. Congrats on your new custom rod MXT! Vrooooom. HH and good luck, Nancy

I really like it, I think Whites should offer both styles........

I like it. How can I get one, just call White's?:jump:

Always good to have something suit yourself. The better you feel with something the more confident it can make you feel and that often translates into more finds.
Myself the round pistol grips make me grip the handle too tight, I guess its my big hands, that then causes hand muscle fatigue and a sort of carpel tunnel feeling when I stop my hunt.
Myself I love the standard MXT grip and I never feel hand/muscle fatigue using it as I do when swinging a GMT. Still, good to see something others may like better. Options are always good.

Monte would like this one . Rob

I had to say it twice since I was referring to the ergonomically excellent Classic-configured MXT, and also to a serious duty 6" EQ2 DD coil. :clapping:

I might have to talk to them on my next trip south about a new set-up for my new MXT. When I chatted about the coil I forgot to mention my "modification" for the Classic & M6 design. naturally it is all a matter of how tall we are, but we shouldn't work the search coil too far out in front as that can cause fatigue, and most of all poor sweep speed and coil presentation. The M6 uses the excellent Classic rod/housing configuration which, as moist know, I have been a fan of for a good while. :)

My problem is with the rod adjustment length. With most White's models, such as an XLT, XL Pro, MXT, etc.,I use a lower rod setting in the 3rd hole from the front rod-lock. That's 'just right' for me. But such an adjustment on the Classic/M6 package it too short, while a setting the the 2nd hole from the front is too long.
