Now tell de truff----would YOU turn in the gold????? I wouldn't because the person who put it there is either dead or they wanted someone to find it -----Fenn.

It really ticks me off (to put it mildly) to see yet again, the government or at least a government agency poking their noses into things like this. G.B. is a very socialized system where the people are taxed to hilt and then some. I always thought an 'Inquest' is where a deceased person is examined to see what they died of!!! Yes, I know there, they want you to turn over ALL finds that have some taxable value and there is almost a fear of NOT turning over items found that have some value because of archaic laws still in place.
This bag of Sovereigns, in my estimation is simply where a PRIVATE citizen hid them for security/a safe place and most likely passed away who knows when, quite probably a long time ago. Now if the new owner wanted to track down for HIMSELF, the previous owners of the piano, good for him BUT.....for a government agency, if only a local government agency i.e. in the local town, absolutely no......keep your sticky hands off of it!!! You may ask why I am so passionate about this? I was born in England and could tell you a lot more similar stories of an overbearing socialist government there. Not to get too political but I really hope America never gets to where G.B. is as far as an overbearing government is concerned. Rant over!!!
