PI Water Machine. Need help to decide....

....between the Whites Surfmaster PI Pro and the Surf Pro Dual Field PI. Again, I've been forced to post this question on this forum cuz I was not getting adequate responses on the beach forum. I'm really trying to get some expert advice on choosing the best water / wet sand machine for my area. I'm in Central / Northern Ca. Black sand seems to be pretty common on many of the local beaches. I'd like to hear any advice, info and recommendations you may have on the Surfmaster PI pro vs the Surf PI dual field. Which would you recommend and why ? What's the main differences, advantages and disadvantages ? Which model/version to get or avoid ? Coil options ? Help on any or all of these points would be very much appreciated. For that matter, ANY info on these units that may be of help is also welcome. Thanks.

I have a Dualfied. It works great at the beach.
In and out of water.
Runs smooth in black sand areas.
Pinpointing something you have to master.
Coil floats but not a problem.

Haven't owned a Surf P.I..But i'm sure it would Get the job done

The P.I. Pro was a step backward for those working difficult sand conditions as Whites removed the pulse delay and substituted a gain control. So if you want a Surfmaster you should get the previous model to the Pro which can always have its performance improved with Mr.Bills mods at little cost if you feel it needs it.

Thanks for the input Jadesun and UK B. Brian, thanks for that tip. I have a land machine with Mr bill's work done on it already so that sounds like a good option. What exactly would the improvements be that you're looking for in the Older PI by putting the mods on it ? From what I've read the Pro model possibly gained some depth on the original. From what you're saying that would only be in the right conditions and that the older PI might be just as good if not better sometimes because of a manual pulse delay feature ? We do have a lot of black sand here so would the pulse delay be a desired feature for that or is it useful in helping to deal with iron trash ,etc. I.E. what are examples of "difficult" sand conditions ? Sorry I'm not too familiar with PI machines so I really appreciate the help. Thanks again.
