I took my girls and 2 of their friends to the park today and took some photos so you can see where I am looking, I only had time to go back and forth along the fence once cause one of my girls friends parents wanted her home after an hour, I did find about 8 cents and the item in photos 3 and 4. I have never seen a top like that before.

Tha can is in pretty good shape... I didn't see any swings, seems that is where I find all my change when I am looking around the tot lot.

The grassy area in the 2nd photo where I am searching did have a swing set and I think a slide when I was a kid, they got taken down when the playground in the first photo got built, there are swings there behind the other equipment. Does anyone have any idea what year the pop can is from?

one thing that I find strange about the can is that there is no indication that there was a pop tab to open it up, you can't see it in the photo but on the top between the 2 holes it says "push first"

That was one of the early cans that you could open without a church key.

You simply pushed on both spots and the tabs folded inside the can and
usually hung on.

Sometimes the tab would break off and end up in your mouth.

That idea did not last long.

HH,

well that's pretty cool, is it rare to find one like it? When you say early, like how early?

You know, my mind gets fuzzy sometimes.
I tend to think that things that happened 20
years ago, happened last year.

So, I can not figger out when that was. But
I do remember when they came out. Last
year....lol

I haven't seen one of those in 25 years. Don't
quote me now, because I could be way off.

I know what you mean, sometimes I think a place that has been around forever has actualy only been around for 10 years or so.

I would say the 71 or a couple years later. A&W wasn't available for consumer goods until 1971 when A&W first appeared in cans and bottles. BTW, the type of top you have is a punch top.

You can get $5, that is what I saw other can go for, from A&W
