Photo of a Texas sunset................

I took this picture last evening with my old Sony point and shoot, 1.3 pixel camera. The old camera just does not have the detail of the newer cameras that are now on the market. This photo was taken from my back yard.
I have ordered a Nikon Coolpix 5700 digital camera and should receive it this week. Kinda wish in a way that I had known about the Panasonic DMC-FZ20 that Raoul just purchased. I need to start taking photos of South Texas life as we now know it, it will someday be gone, progress takes it's toll. Please have a great day! Kelly thats a great photo of a sunset,i'm sure that you will enjoy the Nikon, its not the camera but the person behind it who makes the picture, and from seeing yours they will be great.
cheers Raoul

and it appears to be a winner. What I liked about it is the anti shake feature and the longer zoom lens. I elected to buy the Nikon because the price was lower, but was still a good camera for what I want to do. If price had not been a factor, I would have bought the Panasonic.
I went to Google search and investigated that ugly lizzard animal that you posted a picture of...they evidently hiss to scare people. I don't think that I would mess with one, I would leave it alone. That was a good, sharp, detail picture.
Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D">

Nice shot Kelley. I can't wait until you get your new camera and start showing us what Texas really looks like. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

Hi Kelly,do you live anywhere near San Antonio? if you do i would love to see a pic of The Alamo,i was always a Davy Crocket fan.
Cheers Raoul

The Alamo is in downtown San Antonio, and is a lot smaller when you see it in person...looks bigger in the movies. You can take a picture from across the street from it, no pictures can be taken inside the Alamo.
When I get the new camera, I will take a picture of the Alamo for you.
Do you take many wildlife or landscape photos? I still can not get over how clear and sharp that picture was that you took of that blue tongue lizzard. That old lizzard sure looked like he was annoyed at you, was kinda funny in a way!
Some of the first pictures that I want to take with the new camera when it arrives is some of the historical sites on the ranch. There is a unmarked grave, old military camp site where I found a civil war buckle, and a foundation to a beer tavern that burned down around 1900, just to name a few sites.
This picture that I just posted was taken two days ago. It is a picture of an old swimming hole that was used for over a hundred years. Indians camped on the ridge above the waterfall for hundreds of years.
I suspect that I may get into trouble posting all of this because I think this site is for posting about using digital cameras. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :S
