Phoenix Button
My first Phonix Button from California. Whats it worth?
.........................................................................................................................I'm not sure what they are worth! I have an old Treasure Magazine somewhere that talks about these! Very rare on the East Coast seems to be more available on the West Coast especially around Rivers in Northern California and Oregon! Not sure on the origins! They speculated that the buttons were made for the French Military in the late 18th century!...............Well that was the time of the FRENCH REVOLUTION..................................SO THE BUTTONs HAD NO PLACE TO GO!....................Someone decided that they would be good for trade with the INDIANS............so that is why they are almost exclusively found in the WESTERN STATES!.....................quite a piece of history.............................HH..................Joe
