Phantom tones?

Goldburn

New member
Has this ever happened to any of you?

At first I thought this was my imagination, but it has happened at least a dozen times.

After acquiring a target, I stand back up and rescan the area and get a tone in the exact same spot.. but only once. It's like the Ace has a memory or something.

Is there an explanation, or do I have a magical Ace?

Could be the halo of the target that you just removed..Slight rust or residue left behind..

It sounds like a bit of target masking going on. There is probably a bit of iron right next to the target that you acquired. try hitting it from several different angles next time. It could also just be a piece of junk that sounded good on the first pass.

It does the same thing with my Tesoro as well as with my Ace and Fisher. It must be the halo:ninja:
thats what i was thinking slingshot the halo effect i find that often .

I beleive its the detector resetting itself. Readying for the next target. Mine always gives the phantom beep to the right of where a target was just dug.
