Basically the average detectorist has little or no technical background..Tip of the hat to those that do and explain with technical aspects as surely we all learn a tad. Lets get back to basics...uses some laymans terms as perhaps the majority would learn more. Heck I drive my van to my hunting area and it gets me there , but don't have a prayer how it works and really don't care as long as it does. Honestly not knocking any posters but just calling it as it is...

Dan, you often post that you don't care for the technical explanation and I agree but only half way. Many do care as indicated by all the direct email I get telling me they do. So, in a classroom that has as one purpose the technical and application while the other Minelab forum is more for application and show and tell. So, I will try to help at both levels and find ways to bring the two together. Again, administration has made it very clear on this and several forum that they are for technical explanation and are welcomed. I do strongly agree that the other Minelab forum is best for anyone that is not interested in a classroom environment.
I hope you understand that I don't mean to be abrasive but this is a classroom forum as stated. It really is up to administration to change the purpose or get us back on topic if we are out there debating and discussion topics that are not intended for the forum. So, far we are doing exactly what the forum was desingned for.
Have a good one and happy hunting,
Cody

You say the email that you get, but I tryed to email you and it says you don't have a Yahoo address and sends it back to me. I think some things belong on the forum but some may not, and then email is better for those things.

I agree and want to be very cautious about that as the forum is for all participants. I don't have a Yahoo email but get many emils so don't know why there is a problem. Let me check and see what the problem is. I had a site with about a hundred users so they may have my email address from that site. I also get email from this site so will check it out and make sure it is not how the box is set.

I feel the forum is open to anything that will help us and again applaud both technical and layman posts as somewhere along the way we all learn a bit..Keep them coming Cody as I read everyone of your posts along with many having laymans terms. Personally feel both Minelab forums are informative and a tough call to what is appropriate for either...again no reflection on the posters as without them our forums would die a slow death....

Charles, try the email now and see what happens if you would like to email me.
