I'm in a Greeck Islan.... The location is secret to avoid "hunters" you know..... But belave or not till now it was EUROS 1180 , enoght to pay my second hand Explorer SE cost us$1000 + us$200 SEF coil. The Explorer pay by itself on this beach full of European turist.Now Goin back to my country Argentina my only hope is to find some gold nuggets on the mountains river.

well done mate, you have done very well , Im suprized they allow detecting on the beaches there due to the vast history on the islands ? I detect a lot in Majorca and we are having problems where some resorts are frowning upon detectorists , some beaches have put in place a CURFEW 9/00 ---6/30 ( this was only brought on by a few inconsiderate hunters invading sunbathers space so complaints were made ) ! !
I have recently been asked to hunt for lost wedding rings during the day, and we have had to ask for special permission from the beach managment to hunt for them , It makes it all worth while when an item is returned , and its good public relations for our hobby when the managment see the happy punter reunited with their property !

Well to be honest, this a very safe place for turist a kind of Paradise, the Beach is under municipal supervision (the goverment) there is not "BAD PEOPLE" here. All of them just think about turist and how to give them comfort. There are only 3 o 4 detectors around the beach and 2 more (Excalibur) into the water. But most of them even me work during night time "only", when nobody is on the beach.
I can't imagine detecting during day time!!!!
that's no good even doesn't look good betwen people making noises with the detector its annoying

Special Permission???? Here doesn't exist that. I think detectorist in Spain did a lot of mistakes to get this situation in your conutry. Ibeen reading that to use a detector in Spain is almost forbiden!!! Did you ask why? the reason is because "not use of detector" it was abuse!!
So sorry for my honesty, try to go safe places and also try to keep uor hobby out of curious people
In this picture you will see that i finished my work early in the morning and the beach is empty. Also note the I moved all the sun beds and I put them in the correct order line givin an "Extra Service".

I am curious as to how much other stuff you found during your hunt. Do you find much trash, and how about Jewelry seems with that many people loosing coins there must be plenty of other targets. I understand if you don't want to post pictures of other items. If you go out and find just coins and no trash I would love to live there. HH
My friend...... Is curious, to be honest I just found a few rings most of them silver and two gold this season, unfortunately I'm not leaving in this island, just one year contract working.
You are asking about "much trash" Don't forget that I'm using an Explorer SE, it seems you don't. With the SE XS or II forget about trash. If you understand the sounds then you don't have to dig it. The sound of valuable targets in the SE are very clear except a complete aluminium can buried into the sand that sound like a big coin, but the strong sound of during pinpoint will tell you "don't dig it!!!! "
I love Explorer SE sopriced me every night detecting.

So far I never had even $1 per hour. $4.05 in six hours is my best result. I took my decision to buy those expensive machines only because due to my work I travel overseas three-four times a year. To places without "state land, federal land, engeneer corps, private property, city park, village park, etc" and all other red lights on all sides for a detectorist. If not my trips I`d better spend my time playing tennis or soccer or basketball or swimming.
And only in anticipation of my trips I stay positive collecting pull tabs, beer caps, rusted nails and a penny once in a while in those limited spots left to MDers. Kinda practice and learning the machine for the real hunt.
But for me it is a big mistery why people buy these expensive MDs who never go abroad and allowed to collect this $1 per hour only. Maybe just to have at least a small artificial bright spot in everyday life fighting inflation, recession, war, skyrocketing prices, tickets etc, to feel oneself a child again. Searching for hidden treasure. I do not know.
I do not know why MDing hobby is harrased against here so much. It is innocent. It is harmless. Almost every day dozens of people, women , children are killed at churches, malls, streets by maniacs but selling fire arms is not banned.
Hundreds of people are killed by drunk or stupid drivers - but cars are not banned and anyone can drive.
With a metal detector nobody was killed so far. Why 99% of American land is off-limit to American tax payers for MDing ?! (99.99% - ?)
Questions, questions... and no answers.

Mirco Take it easy!!!! try to find a quiet place to go for "Detecting" work travel overseas three-four times a year would be nice even to find a beach somewhere to relax and enjoy with the Expensive machine that you ar planning to buy.
