Persistence finally pays off ....

Hi Guys,

My quest to find a gold ring amongst a hoard of nickles finally paid off. I was beginning to believe the nickles would beat me into submission after digging a couple of hundred of them along with countless pull tabs and bits of foil.

Bruce is right -- you ARE an inspiration!! I have been digging nickel hits for the past year -- knowing that some day my nickel might end up being a nice gold ring. I don't have the patience to dig all the can slaw and square tabs that hit very close to the nickel area, so I have instead been, like McDave, focusing JUST on the solid nickel hits. While I have upped my nickel finds substantially, including some Buffs and Vs, I have yet to find that elusive gold ring. Your post encourages me to keep at it!
