Permission to hunt huge Farm.

I have received permission to hunt a very large farm. Its is equipped with a slave cemetery, slave quarters still standing. Owner has told me that civil war troops marched right through the farm. It would take some time to do this by myself. If there is anyone out there from the vicinity of Goldsboro, Wilson NC area that would like to join me please let me know.

Not from your area, but it sounds like you got a sweet spot to do some neat detecting and if this place hasn't been detected before then you may be in for some great finds. Good luck and look forward to your future posts of what you find at this place. HH.

I'm in Delaware, I would love to go but like McDave, I think the boss would have a problem with it. Already used up vacation time on deer season. Be a great place to learn my new Se. Please take some pics so we can see the place, and your finds. Good luck !
 
Way to go! Good luck and I hope you find lots of good stuff. I'd come down from snowy Ohio to help out but I have this nasty four letter word (WORK) that gets in the way of all my fun. Happy hunting.

Sounds like a place you will spend quite a bit of time at uncovering some fantastic keepers.

What a generous offer. I am in Eastern Wake County and would love to join you. I've been swinging the beeper (SE Pro) for 5 months now and belong to a club in Raleigh. I've accumulated what I've been told is a respectable amount of silver and some interesting relics from backyards, schools and parks. I am coming out of the "learning curve" with my machine well tuned, and my computer's desktop littered with Civil War research websites. I am racing down the straightaway now towards a Confederate flag. The coins and "stuff" I've found so far are great. But I can only imagine what it would be like to unearth a bona fide piece of American history and add just a bit to our understanding of the Civil War. Call, write, email or send up a smoke signal, I will be there.
