Permission Granted

this afternoon i decided to hunt an old cabin in a soybean field that i had recently gotten permission to hunt. the hunt wasn't too eventful yielding only a 1945 wheatie, a couple of links of old chain and a shotgun shell. as i was walking back to the truck a man stopped and asked me if i would be interested in detecting some very old places on his property down the road. that's what i do, told him. he went on to tell me that the oldest site had a civil war history and the original house on the place was built in the late 1700's. he then produced a cooler from his truck and handed me a cold one. by the time we finished our conversation it was dark and he had given me 4 old house sites on his 100 acre farm to explore. this couldn't have come at a better time because i was running out of places to detect. i guess you could count that as research, right? pic is of cabin that i hunted today.

It works that way sometimes. I found a whole sixpack once while out detecting and.... oh wait, the guy! Yeah that happens too. Good deal.
