I assume this is a pre-civil war perish token. I have found them searching for running boar tokens, but is there some where to search what the coin is worth?
My buddy found it while hunting for gold near a old home site.
Any info would be a great help!
Thanks and happy hunting

This is a modern (post-1960) copy of a well-known satirical Hard Times token. It is easily identified by the date. Genuine tokens are dated 1834, not 1824.
Best of luck,
Buckram

Amazing how much stuff gets copied nowadays. Patina did look odd to me. Cool study peice NC, I would tell your friend to keep it for reference. Good hunting, David @ Dixie
